In a blog post by MIND 7 member and officer, Ms. Minerva BC Newman, the Management Association of the Philippines (MAP) launched a campaign against malnutrition and child stunting, supporting a multi-sectoral approach to address the problem and complement the Philippine Multi-Sectoral Nutrition Project (PMNP).
MAP aims to expand its role beyond fund generation and philanthropy to participate in programming and governance of nutrition strategies and interventions.
According to the World Bank, the Philippines ranks fifth in the world with the highest stunting prevalence among countries in the East Asia and Pacific region.
MAP hopes to engage private firms, organizations, and individuals to address the issue and is committed to harnessing the contributions that various industries and sectors can extend to reduce child stunting.
Recently, the National Nutrition Council Region 7 joined in the first leg of the PMNP Consultative Meeting in Central Visayas.//Ms. Minerva BC Newman, MIND 7 Member and Officer
