Holistic, multisectoral approach needed in nutrition promotion: NNC 7

During MIND 7's Q1-2023 meeting on March 28, National Nutrition Council Region VII Regional Nutrition Program Coordinator, Dr. Parolita A. Mission (right in photo), expressed her gratitude to media partners for supporting nutrition work during the COVID-19 crisis. 

She discussed the need for additional action to promote nutrition, especially for the youth, and the importance of investment in sound nutrition. She said that systemic changes are necessary to achieve nutrition targets, and collaboration across multiple sectors is crucial. 

Dr. Mission added that the media's role in persuading policy makers, modifying caregivers' behaviors, and rallying multisectoral participation is critical. She is confident that a holistic approach will help build stronger and more resilient human capital through proper nutrition, leaving no one or sector behind.
